you are adding why too many things in the challenge for it to pass. The first question is for you to make an empty variable called answer. what you have is a variable names answer with an empty string. remove the string and have it as so:

var answer

that's the first question. the second question is for you to add the prompt method to the answer var. and that's it. so remove the alert's and other prompt()'s so it looks like this

var answer = prompt('What day is it?');

this should be the second answer to the challenge.

third question, you have it there and it's correct.

document.write(answer);

and there you go. Just remember the challenges ask for very precise answers, you can't really stray from that they want. I hope this helps.
