Using id with # does not work in Safari (7.1) but does in Firefox (32.0.3). Is there alternative syntax for Safari?

Used the same code shown in video:

html used id="wrapper" in div element

css code is #wrapper { [formatting stuff here]

}

The exact same code doesn't work in Safari, but does in Firefox.

A common reason that CSS doesn't work when you make changes is because of browser caching. In Safari, press: CMD + SHIFT + R

Thanks, I think this was it. Left the machine for a while and it worked when I came back even though I made no changes.

I'm not sure I understand your question. But I can't think of a single browser that wouldn't support CSS ID selectors or the id attribute.

For clarity you don't need to use the # when you're declaring a HTML ID but it goes in your CSS declaration. :-)
