I saved an image from the internet into my text editor and used the file path to it in my html file, but it did not show up on the website. The alt feature did, though. What do I do so the does appear on the website?

You will access your image with the following code <img src="images/yourImageName.formatt"> If you don't create a directory you will access through < img src="./yourImageName.format"
