Try making the navigation links list items, like so:

<ul>
  <li>Portfolio</li>
  <li>About</li>
  <li>Contact</li>
</ul>

The way you've styled your code, it seems like you're creating an extra link above your headings. Try putting the links inside the list items, like so:

<ul>
  <li><a href="index.html">Portfolio</a></li>
  <li><a href="about.html">About</a></li>
  <li><a href="contact.html">Contact</a></li>
</ul>

If you're still having trouble, try watching/rewatching this Treehouse video.

Hi, it's here:

<nav> <ul> Portfolio </ul> <ul> About </ul> <ul> Contact </ul> </nav>

must be

<nav> <ul> <li>Portfolio </li> <li> About </li> <li> Contact </li> </ul> </nav>

But remember to wrap the list items in an unordered list!
