what am i doing wrong for this code

def squared(john): try: john = int(john) return(john ** 2) else: return(john * len(john))

        john = int(john)
            return(john ** 2)
    else:

Hi George,

You have a couple of issues.

The instructions mention that you should use try and except. You have else in your code. You want to return a multiple of the string if there was an exception.

Also, your first return is indented too far.
