Hi All,
I've gone line by line and my code appears to match what was shown in the video.
Does anyone see something I don't?
<?php
//Properties
class Fish {
public $common_name='default_name';
public $flavor='default_flavor';
public $record_weight=0;
function __construct($name, $flavor, $record){
$this->common_name=$name;
$this->flavor=$flavor;
$this->record_weight=$record;
}
//Methods
public function getInfo(){
return "A ". this->$name. "is an ". this->$flavor. "flavored fish. The world record weight ". this->$record;
}
}
$bass = new Fish("Largemouth Bass", "Excellent", "22 pounds 5 ounces");
echo $bass->getInfo();
?>

Courses Plus Student 21,242 PointsHi, Kelly.
In your getInfo()
method, you've got the $
signs in the wrong place. They should look like this: $this->property
.
You've also got some of the property names incorrect in that method. The properties you use should be the same ones you set up in your first public
variables. (I.e.: you should have $this->common_name
instead of $this->name
.)
Also, be careful about spaces when you are echoing out your string. :)
