Select the <input> element with the ID linkName and store its value in the variable inputValue. (For a refresher on getting the value of a text input, watch this video from the previous section.)
const inputValue = document.querySelector('linkName')
const inputValue = document.querySelector('linkName')

5,408 PointsHey Michael, you're missing the "#" which is needed to target the linkName ID . Try this, which should return the HTML element:
const inputValue = document.querySelector('#linkName');
If you seek to get the value of the input, you can try this too:
const inputValue = document.querySelector('#linkName').value;
Hope that helps,
Camille

12,719 PointsHey Michael, when using document.querySelector, you have to specify if it's a class with ".", or "#" for id, like you do in CSS.
const inputValue = document.querySelector('#linkName');
