JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Storing and Tracking Information with Variables Create a Variable

What does "Assign your name (as a string) to the myName variable." mean?

My answer is:

var myName = Ellie;

but that clearly isn't right. I'm really struggling on this one! Can anyone explain it to me?

scripts.js
var myName = Ellie;

</html>

Hey Ellie! You only forgot to put quotations (either ' ' or " ") around your name. Otherwise, you're good!

It is asking you to create a variable called myName and use the assignment operator (The equals sign) and store your name as a string in the variable. when you put quotes around something it becomes a string var myName = "This is a string" var myName = This is not a string Hope this helps you.
