28,407 PointsYou're off to a good start, but it appears that you're trying to call the function inside itself. While it's perfectly valid to call a function inside another function this isn't what this challenge is after. Also, your function doesn't have any parameters so you don't need them when calling the function. The challenge is wanting you to define a variable equal to the function called.

var year = new Date().getFullYear();
return year;
}
var yearToday = getYear();
