What I'm I doing wrong here? The code is not working;

def add(num1, num2): try: except ValueError: return None else:
return float(num1) + float(num2)

trial.py
def add(num1, num2):
    try:
    except ValueError:
        return None
    else:
        return float(num1) + float(num2)

Hey Christian,

you were on the right track but the challenge wants you to change your parameters to floats in the try block. Right now you have an empty try block.

This should work:

def add(num1, num2):
  try:
    num1 = float(num1)
    num2 = float(num2)
  except ValueError:
    return None
  else:
    return num1 + num2
