What in the world am i supposed to do?

This is the task in the code challenge:

The mReleaseDate member variable is already stored as a Date object. Convert it and return it using the SimpleDateFormat variable.

I've been thinking about that question and tried ALL possibilities... I just don't get it? What am i even supposed to do???

Thank you for reading : )

public String getFormattedReleaseDate(){

  SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
  String dateOut = formatter.format(mReleaseDate);
  return dateOut;

}
