What is "IsActive" in Invader good for?

What am I missing here? isn't an invader automatically active if it is not dead or hasn't scored?

If yes, why do we need a property for that?

From what I remember of that exercise, having an "IsActive" attribute could be handy. For example, if a count of invaders with IsActive status returned 0, you'd know that the game was over and the player has won.
