what is parent element? i'm stuck at the challenge task

Add CSS that will allow all images to fill their parent element.

So the perent element in this case is the background "box" that contains the img or any img on your page. In order to fill the images perent elements, you will need to give the imag selector, a max-width of 100%. Like this, img {max-width:100%;}
