what is the difference between installing wordpress with xampp and wordpress with serverpress?

When installing wordpress locally on a pc and using xampp do you need to get hosting as well? What is the difference between using xampp and using serverpress?

Hi Pete,

There is no difference other than ease of setup.

If you do not understand how to setup a database for WordPress and modify your host file then Desktop Server will be the easier way to go.

Desktop Server = a few clicks and your up and going. It also adds some functionality that is not in XAMPP by default. (As well it runs on top of XAMPP)

XAMPP = Greater customization but more work.
