what is the difference between self.attribute and _attribute?

I understand the setter and getters automatic creation through property, but what's the difference between _attribute and self.attribute?

I've not seen the video, but if iOS follows similar conventions to other languages;

  • People often prefix private properties with an underscore to make it easy to tell that they are private.

  • The self prefix is simply a way to target a property within that instance.
