Hello Brooke ,

Great, You Complete it all the way. The Instruction may sound a bit long and confusing but all you have to do is. Create new variable name yearToday and Call The getYear Function like this.

var yearToday = getYear();

The Full Code Look Like This.

function getYear() {
 var year = new Date().getFullYear();
  return year
}
console.log(getYear());
var yearToday = getYear();

Happy Coding!
