What is the <nav> tag for again and when should it be used?

I was trying to remember the purpose of the navigation tab.

Do you know what your Div tag is all about?

If so, then you're not too far away from understanding the nav tag.

When HTML5 came out, it gave us some new "semantic" tags that work the same way as any div tag.

So you can have

<section>
<article>
<aside>
<header>
<footer>
<nav>
<aside>

They work just the same as DIV, but it's just a new way of organising your code so you can put your code into meaningful places. Keeps it organised. :-)

It is basically just a tag that is used to help you organize your HTML document. You should put your navigation between the tags.
