What is the strand of code to link a javascript file to HTML?

I can't seem to figure out the code to get a javascript file to html. I truly forget, can anyone jog my memory?

use the script tag. and add a src attribute to it. it should be placed in your index.html file inside the head tag or inside the body tag and at the end of the body tag. <script src="shout.js"></script>
