16,767 PointsWhat is wrong with my code?
I tried my code in IDLE and it works fine, but when I copy and paste it over to Treehouse it tells me it didn't get the correct output.
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(string):
lower_string = string.lower()
words = lower_string.split(" ")
word_dict = {}
for word in words:
try:
word_dict[word] += 1
except KeyError:
word_dict[word] = 1
return word_dict
