How an anonymous function is not created here
var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.onreadystatechane = function(){
xhr.open('GET', 'sidebar.html');
xhr.send();
};
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>AJAX with JavaScript</title>
<script src="app.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<div id="main">
<h1>AJAX!</h1>
</div>
<div id="sidebar"></div>
</body>
</html>

It looks like you're missing a letter "g" from inside the word "change" in your onreadystatechange
event. Also, the function doesn't extend to the open() and send() functions, so your curly brace should end before those functions are called:
var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhr.onreadystatechange = function () {}
xhr.open('GET', 'sidebar.html');
xhr.send();
