For the racecar code challenge, I don't know what is incorrect with the run_lap method. Will someone please tell me why it is incorrect?
class RaceCar:
laps = 0
def __init__(self, color, fuel_remaining, **kwargs):
self.color = color
self.fuel_remaining = fuel_remaining
for key, value in kwargs.items():
setattr(self, key, value)
def run_lap(self, length):
self.fuel_remaining - (length * 0.125)
laps += 1

Treehouse StaffHi Melissa Benton 👋
You're very close to pass this challenge! Currently, you're using the fuel_remaining
value to do the calculation, but you're not updating the property to store that value. You can fix this by changing the -
to be -=
to not only do the math but also store the returned value:
self.fuel_remaining -= length * 0.125
Also, when increasing the number of laps, make sure to use self to access and update the class property. It should look something like this:
self.laps += 1
After those two adjustments your code should work as expected and pass the tests for this challenge 🎉
