What is wrong with this code?!

keeps saying that the nav tag has to go after the link but that's what i am doing

I think you need to put your nav tag after the anchor (a tag), with the href equal to index.html. hope that helps.

Your href would be better off inside one of the list items because you would need something to click on as its a link.

<ul> <li><a href="index.html">homepage</a></li> </ul>

what you've done is added the href into your h1 and h2 tags. hope this helps but I'm a little unsure on the question

Your nav tag is just BEFORE the a tag. place the nav directly below the ending anchor tag.
