What number is represented by the byte 00000111?

I meant to put four 1s making this number 00001111 the answer I came up with was 15 but the test said i was wrong so I became a bit confused. Thanks for the feedback :-)

The answer should be "7." :) Good luck! There are plenty of tricks available to find that.
