What seems to be the error in my code?

Hi Yusuf,

Looks like you're missing the colon! Additionally, you also don't need the parenthesis to return the sum/concatenation of the arguments (it will still work, there's just no need).

This should work:

def add(phrase1, phrase2):
    return phrase1 + phrase2
