What two applications is Jason working with in this video. What would be the best way to follow along?

Is he is using terminal? I am following using textmate and then running the programming with in text mate to see the outputs. Is this good?

Every option is good as long as you feel comfortable with it :). I think he's using Sublime Text with light color scheme. I also started using Sublime because of Treehouse and I'm very happy with its capabilities. Not sure what other application you mean...his temrinal window with IRB running?

He's using Sublime Text for code editing and the Terminal for code execution and output. If you work with Ruby you'll be expected to do a lot of stuff in the Terminal, so I highly recommend that you take the time to learn it. It might seem daunting at first, but once you've used it for a few weeks it feels like the most natural thing to do. After all, we're dealing with computers all of the time, and the Terminal is where you talk directly to the computer ;-)
