15,796 Pointswhat wrong!!
I tried my code and it worked but I'm not passing the challenge
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.
def word_count(string):
re_dict = {}
keys = string.lower().split(" ")
for item in keys:
value = keys.count(item)
if item not in re_dict:
re_dict.update({item:value})
continue
else:
pass
return re_dict

231,236 PointsThere's a clue in the error message when it says to "Be sure you're ... splitting on all whitespace!"
To split on "all whitespace" the argument to "split" must be left empty. Giving a space argument causes it to split only on individual spaces.
Otherwise, good job!
