JavaScript JavaScript Basics (Retired) Storing and Tracking Information with Variables Capturing Visitor Input and Writing It to the Page

What's wrong in this JavaScript code?

Am I am making a mistake here? Need help. I am clueless.

The Code:

script.js
var answer;
prompt ("What day is it?")
var answer = prompt ("What day is it?")
document.write (answer)

The Error Message:

It looks like you placed the document.write() function in the wrong place.

Hi there,

You've declared the var twice, so remove the first two lines. And I think Javascript code lines are terminated with a semi-colon.

script.js
var answer;
answer = prompt("What day is it?"); // you can do that on one line
document.write(answer);

I hope that helps.

Steve.

[EDIT updated now your code is present]

Thanks, Rich!

Worked. Thanks Steve.

No problem! :-)
