When I click the AVD manger button a pop up appears that says its loading but it never comes up. Why?

Could someone please help me?

If you do not have a powerful PC or Mac, the emulator is very very slow. I gave up using it even though I have a quad-core laptop.

I suggest you hook an actual Android phone via USB to your computer. It will save you a lot of time:
