When selecting the .phone class for styling in CSS, why do we have to use the entire "path"/"address"?

When selecting the .phone class for styling in CSS, why do we have to use the entire "path"/"address", ".contact-info li.phone {}" , since we only have ONE and only one .phone class? Why not simply type ".phone {}" directly?

Hi Radu! I don't remember now , but if I recall correctly Nick was trying to show examples of css priority. But you are right, if you only have one item with that particularly class you don't need to use the full call just the .class!
