Where should I focus on if I wish to learn AI and Robotics?

My dream job is to work in AI and was thinking AI focused toward robotics. I was just curious what languages I should focus on learning and where I should look for better understanding.

Python, it's the most used language in AI and scientific research; R is another language that used alot as well, but Treehouse doesn't have R courses yet.

I don't know if a webdev based platform is the right place ... perhaps the gamedev section here. Otherwise all the programing sections here are to a certain degree a kind of intelligence. But if you want a 'machine' similiar to the Harold Finch's machine from the tv show point of interest, you have a lot to do ;)
