Where's my mistake?

Hey guys I think I've done all the logic of the task. I can't understand where did I go wrong. Any ideas? Thank you :)

import random

start = 5

while start is True:
    num = random.randint(1, 99)

    def even_odd(num):
        # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
        # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
        return not num % 2

    if even_odd(num) == True:
        print("{} is even".format(num))
    else:
        print("{} is odd".format(num))

    start = start - 1

You just need to change:

while start is True:

to simply:

while start:

Your variable 'start' is equal to 5 at the start of the program, which is a 'truthy' value, but when you compare it to True using 'is', that evaluates to False.

As a side note, it would be best to have the even_odd() function definition outside the loop so that it isn't redefined every time, but the way you've done it still works.

Here's how my full solution would look:

import random

def even_odd(num):
    # If % 2 is 0, the number is even.

    return not num % 2

start = 5
while start:
    num = random.randint(1, 99)
    if even_odd(num):
        print("{} is even".format(num))
    else:
