Which best or ideal for web design Photoshop or illustrator?

I'm a Front-End Developer and know Photoshop well. Are this sufficient or I should I learn illustrator also, or this just a waste of time.

Hi Mohammed,

Like Steven said: Photoshop is great for photos but nothing else. Adobe Illustrator is a tool you want to use when creating icons, logos, illustrations, and so on. The downside is that the learning curve can be quite intense is if you don't use it on a daily basis (which probably you won't be doing as a Front-End Developer).

An alternative to Adobe Illustrator is Sketch https://www.sketchapp.com/. It's much easy to get the hang of, easier, the software works faster and is much cheaper than Adobe Illustrator. This is coming from someone who worked professionally with Adobe Illustrator for about a decade.

Hope it helps, Max

:hand: Whoa there! I've never said that Photoshop isn't good for anything other than photos, only that it's not as easy to use for line art as other tools. A true Photoshop master might never use any other tool, regardless of the task.
