why am I getting an error?

I an getting Bummer: There was an error with your code: SyntaxError: Parse error.

I run my code in visual studio code and it runs just fine...

I think this course was created before ES2015 syntax was generally supported. Try using "var" instead of "let" for your declarations (as was done in the original code).

Also the final statement doesn't need to be enclosed in braces as it is unrelated to the "while". The "while" could have a semicolon after it (optional, but a "best practice").
