Python Python Basics Functions and Looping Raise an Exception

why can't I raise a value error for product_idea?

I am trying to raise a value error - but what is wrong with my code?

suggestinator.py
def suggest(product_idea):
    if len(product_idea) < 3:
        raise ValueError("The name is too short")
        return product_idea + "inator"

Your raise line is perfect, but you indented the return line inside the if code block. Put it outside and it will pass!
