5,749 PointsWhy didn't we have to allocate and initiate "Shape" in main.m ??
Don't we need to also include
Shape *shape = [[Shape alloc]init];
in main.m ?

The reason you use alloc in Objective C is that every object that is create needs some memory allocated to it when it it run. So using alloc does exactly this, the use of initialisation or init just gets the object ready when it is run by the main thread i.e. main.m or the main path of execution.
Hope that helps
