why do I get, "NameError: name 'add' is not defined"

try/except is not working

trial.py 
def add(a, b):
  try:
    x = float(a)
    y = float(b)
  except ValueError:
    return none  
  else:
    return x + y

Hey Munesh,

you almost got it right! You just have to capitalize the N in "None".

Like so:

def add(a, b):
  try:
    x = float(a)
    y = float(b)
  except ValueError:
    return None  
  else:
    return x + y
