Couldn't the Player's key prop be used as an id?
<Player
name={player.name}
id={player.id}
key={player.id.toString()}
removePlayer={this.handleRemovePlayer}
/>

is a special string attribute help React identify which items have changed, are added, or are removed. Keys should be given to the elements inside the array to give the elements a stable identity. They're not passed down to children as usable values.
If you try to console.log(props.key)
for example, you'll see that it's undefined
. Meaning {() => props.removePlayer(props.key)}
won't work.
