HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Add Social Media Links

Why does it keep saying 'Oops! it looks like Task 1 is no longer passing.'

This is my message I get every time I do this: Inside the <footer> element, wrap Facebook and Twitter images with links to your own accounts. If you don’t have a Facebook or Twitter account, any other link will work.

Oops! it looks like Task 1 is no longer passing.

You have too many Facebook and Twitter images. I count the two original ones and two pairs of links and images underneath. Remove the four lines that contain the links and use one of the two you have around the Facebook and Twitter images to their respected image tags after the FOOTER tag as shown below.

<footer>
   <a href="http://facebook.com/NickPettit"><img src="img/facebook-wrap.png"  alt="Facebook Logo"></a>
   <a href="http://twitter.com/pettitnick"><img src="img/twitter-wrap.png"  alt="Twitter Logo"></a>
   <p>&copy; 2013 Nick Pettit.</p>
</footer>

Cheers!

I haven't answered the why here for you specific case, but one thing I noticed with the challenges is that sometimes if it's failing it gives you that warning that task 1 is no longer passing, even though if you went back you would see that it is fine. Fixing whatever's wrong in the present part of the task works.

And as Shawn Gregory mentioned, it seems you have 4 (2 of each set of) links. One other thing about challenges are they are specific in what they ask for. Sometimes you have done the thing, but 'added' something, and it will count it as a fail and give you the bummer warning...

Thank you Shawn and Darren for helping me. i was wondering today if this was for me. Not only did I have this problem. Every time I signon I have to change my password.

Keep at it and it will make more and more sense as you work through it and practice..
