8,963 PointsWhy does this give undefined error? const button = document.getElementByID('sayPhrase');
The error correcting on this site is a bit strange, clues would be a good idea
const button = document.getElementByID('sayPhrase');
const input = document.getElementByID('phraseText');
button.addEventListener('click', () => {
alert(input.value);
});
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Phrase Sayer</title>
</head>
<body>
<p><input type="text" id="phraseText"></p>
<p><button id="sayPhrase">Say Phrase</button></p>
<script src="js/app.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

34,894 Pointsyou need to include the script for jQuery - something like this <script src="js/jquery-1.11.2.min.js"></script>
next, the getElementByID, should be getElementById
