actually it is working, but probable not how you wanted... By $isbn = $key; you have assigned key to variable, but didn't echo out... So your code can be changed - instead of using $key in foreach, you can use $isbn (it is variable name, where keys from books array will be added), so it will make more sense in your code and then you can echo $isbn where you want...
