Why doesn't this work?

let inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName').value; document.getElementById('link') = inputValue;

app.js
let inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName').value;
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">
            <label>Link Name:</label>
            <input type="text" id="linkName">
            <a id="link" href="https://teamtreehouse.com"></a>
        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>

Hi! It doesn't work because you have to set innerText property of "link" element. So, just change document.getElementById('link') = inputValue; to document.getElementById('link').innerText = inputValue;

Hello Sean!

It looks good... Try to refresh your browser and test it again. If that doesn't work, can you please write what the error says? Thanks!
