I had a code challenge where I used a innerText or innerHTML to place text for a link:

54,971 PointsFirst off above you reference js.practice.js in your html but then state the javascript file name is app.js. With that fixed your code processes a blank text box so the link is blank. Here is some modified code that sets the value:
const inputValue = document.getElementById('linkName');
inputValue.value = "My Link"
const a = document.getElementById('link');
a.innerHTML = inputValue.value;
But what I think you want is to allow the user to set this with the text box so for that you would need to add an event listener to a button or some other element
