Why is my method not returning as a nicely formatted string?

When I try my code in workspaces, it seems to work fine. Does anyone know why this doesn't work for the Code Challenge?

method.rb
def mod(a, b)
  c = a % b
  puts "The remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is #{c}."
  return puts
end

I don't know Ruby, but it is looking for this:

def mod(a, b)

return "The remainder of #{a} divided by #{b} is #{a % b}."

end

Tested and worked.

puts always return nil. It prints the string to the console then return nil.
