Why is my photo more pear shaped then circle?

when i applied the code:

.profile-photo {
  display: block;
  max-width: 150px;
  margin: 0 auto 30px;
  border-radius: 100%;

My photo did not come out as a circle.. it was pear shaped. Is that because my personal photo dimensions are different to Nicks? If so, what is the best suited dimensions? As mine are currently w=1024 h=768

Hey Jacob, that is correct. That is because of dimensions of your photo. If you want your photo to be a perfect circle, it should have the same width and height.

Yes

Use a picture that is a square instead of a rectangle

I think your picture is larger than his. Try to download his project file and check for the image size. He also says the sizes of his images at some point in the course but I don't remember the exact spot. I hope this helps.

Nick's image was 512 x 512

Thanks John :) Yeah I kind of remember it was along those lines, definitely smaller and squared up.

You are welcome :)
