Dear Maharshee. Firstly you declared two variable

var itemToBuy = '';
var savings = 1000;

here is the flow control if saving is bigger than 500. which now saving is 1000 bigger than 5000. The state will execute

if ( savings > 500 ) {
  itemToBuy = 'Computer';
}

therefore itemToBuy will equal to computer.
