HTML How to Make a Website Creating HTML Content Include External CSS

Why isn't type="text/css" included in the <link> for CSS?

I know that <link rel and href> are supposed to be included in the CSS head. Do you need to specify the link type as well?

In HTML 5 the type attribute for rel links is not necessary, so there's no need to include it. You can put it in if you want to, but all it does is take up extra space.

Ok. Thank you. I came here after learning from Codecademy and that attribute was always included even though it was HTML 5. Just to see it not included for the tutorials here confused me a bit. Thank you for clearing that up.
