Why JS instead of :hover in Adding Interactivity of Build a Simple Ruby on Rails Application course?

Why do we use JS to show Edit and Delete links instead of just put .status:hover .admin { display: inline; }

Hello Nikolay,

I believe this was done simply to introduce CoffeeScript and how it could be used in this way. It isn't the most practical application, but certainly good enough as an introduction.

I hope this helps.

This has been asked on the forum a couple of times and I believe the answer was basically just because that was the way they decided to do it. Both ways will work, but the css version is a better choice.
