Hi Edgar, You are calling a js file called scripts.js, have you tried placing your alert in the scripts.js file rather than the html file?

Hi Edgar, It appears that you have a typo in your script source tag. It should be src instead of scr. I hope this solves your problem.

Happy coding! Brenna

thank you! i corrected that but i still get the same result task 1 is no longer passing

<!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"> <title>JavaScript Basics</title> </head> <body> <script src ="scripts.js"></script> <script> alert("warning");</script>

</body> </html>

You need to type alert() inside first <script>

 <script scr="scripts.js">
 alert("Warning");
</script>
