why the color didn't change

gallery li{

float: left; margin: 2.5%; width: 45%; background-color: #f5f5f5; color: #bdc3c7; }

after refresh the browser, why the color #bdc3c7 doesn't change to light grey? Does the color #bdc3c7 control the p's color?

Make sure you are using the class or id selectors. It should be .gallery of #gallery, depending on whether gallery is a class or an id.
