wordcount.py - not sure what mistake I am coding in my code, please help

sample code:

def word_count(str_in): dict1 = {} lis = str_in.split(' ') for word in lis: if word.lower() in dict1: dict1[word.lower()] += 1 else: dict1.update({word.lower(): 1}) return dict1

wordcount.py 
# E.g. word_count("I do not like it Sam I Am") gets back a dictionary like:
# {'i': 2, 'do': 1, 'it': 1, 'sam': 1, 'like': 1, 'not': 1, 'am': 1}
# Lowercase the string to make it easier.

Hi there,

It is objecting to your split command. Omit the parameter and your code is fine:

lis = str_in.split()
